Origins

Marianne Peeters was born in Lille, France on 12 February 1988 making her a 24 year old Aquarian on Crystal Day. Her father was Belgian and her mother French. She has a sister 4 years younger.

Childhood

She was raised as a Catholic, going to a private Catholic College in Lille, and both girls were sent to church regularly although they both stopped going when Marianne was ten.

As a child she did not easily identify with either her mother or father, feeling different from them and from her school-fellows. She felt there was something special about her and turned to introspection to try to understand what it was. She therefore had very few friends.

Adolescence

The older she got the more convinced she became that she was not like other girls. In fact she became sure that she was not. She went through periods of serious depression in her teens, contemplating suicide more than once, until she went to University and finally began to mix with people who, she felt, were more like herself. She realised that perhaps she was not unique.

She studied French, English and art at University then spent a period of unemployment until she stumbled across a job for a guide at CERN.

Alex and Danny

She had only been at CERN for a few weeks when Alex asked her out for a date. She found him attractive but she had heard of his reputation so she refused. However he was persistent and eventually he persuaded her to go to a nightclub with him. It was not long before she was sleeping with him and they saw a lot of each other during the summer of 2011.

It was towards the end of the summer that Danny asked her out. Danny was totally unappealing to her and she refused without a second thought, telling him she was going out with Alex. The next day he told her that Alex was going out with at least two other girls as well. When she challenged Alex about this he did not deny it.
Marianne finished the affair soon after, although she felt utterly distraught, and started going out with Danny. In a moment of drunken madness she slept with him and fell pregnant.

They were married in February 2012. The baby is due about four weeks after Crystal Day.

Personality

She is a dark, brooding, self-absorbed introvert. She longs to develop her creative, artistic side and dreams of writing poetry or acting but never does anything about it. This failure makes her feel ashamed of neglecting her own talents.

Physical Appearance

She is widely regarded as one of the most beautiful girls in CERN, although she has no idea why. She has long dark hair, dark eyes which can sparkle with life when she is amused and smoulder with inner passion when she is frustrated. She often dresses in dark clothes and there is an aura of mystery about her which frightens some people.
